You have been through a trauma, loss or something so painful it is hard to put into words. You are looking for more than coping tools (although some of that is good!), you are looking to feel better and create meaning from these experiences. You want to leave painful experiences behind but you find yourself reacting intensely to things in your life in a way that makes you realize that your past gets activated more than you want it to. You’re ready to both develop insight and coping tools, create new patterns and meaning in your life, and release your pain from your nervous system.
Online counseling has been shown in multiple studies to be as effective as in person therapy. Therapy online has the added benefit of being convenient. No more having to factor in time to commute back and forth to therapy, sit in a waiting room or traffic. Online trauma therapy allows you to log on from the comfort and privacy of your home or office and be in a familiar location while you work towards your healing. Online EMDR can help you “re-set” your thermostat from being dysregulated, hypervigilant, or dissociated to that of being calm or grounded. An added benefit is that you are not limited to therapists in your geographic location but you can find a therapist in your state with the best credentials and rapport.
I am an EMDR provider and completed coursework as a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medical Provider. Clients have told me they understand their trauma more in one session together than they have previously in months of talk therapy. I have been told that I “get” complicated dynamics such as abuse, narcissism, high conflict divorce, or being a crime survivor. Therapy should be a place where these complicated emotions and relationships become understandable. I am highly experienced and skilled in working with complex trauma and family situations. I often get referrals from colleagues including psychiatrists for more complex cases that have not responded well in the past to therapy.
I work with: depression, trauma, CPTSD, anxiety, narcissistic abuse, chronic pain/illness, birth trauma, crime survivors, high conflict divorce, domestic violence, betrayal trauma, life transitions, sexual abuse, child loss & grief, therapists/medical providers, first responders. All clients are seen via telehealth from the comfort and privacy of your home.
